During 2007 a few former classmates from the Leaving Certificate Class of 1977 came together and decided that we should mark the 30th anniversary of our class leaving
St. Peter's as no previous anniversary had been celebrated.

Several enjoyable meetings were held and contact details were established for the majority of our class of 1972-1977. Unfortunately there were a few who eluded us. Surprisingly most of our classmates were still resident in Ireland. We had expected far more to have emigrated considering
the economic climate in Ireland at the time we left St. Peter's.

Forty -two of us gathered at our old alma mater on Saturday, October 20th and a reception was hosted by the current school principal Mr. Pat Quigley. As was to be expected it took many of us a little time to put names to faces but once barriers were broken down conversation began to flow.

We were given a guided tour our old school and of the new facilities. Many were surprised by the huge changes with the seminary and boarding part of the school now gone. We gathered in the collegiate chapel for mass celebrated by Fr. Jim Finn who welcomed us all and dealt sensitively with the good and not so good memories that former students may have had of St. Peter's.

After mass Mr. Pat Quigley addressed us all and outlined the current ethos of the school and plans
for the future.

We then went to the Ferrycarrig hotel for a most enjoyable meal and get together.
Conversation flowed into the early ours of the morning and it was agreed by all that we should meet again in the not too distant future.
